Satan’s Got Your Number
By Linda C Dipman

Let's have fun, let's get drunk at a party!  After a few drinks you are completely gone and so your so called
'friends' dare you to get a permanent tattoo that is perverted, X rated, and demeaning to women.  You are the
center of everyone's attention and it feel's great until you wake up in the morning sober and realize what you did!

Maybe this is your story.  At the party you met a girl and you think, how about a little casual sex.  You probably
never see her again because she doesn't normally run in your crowd.  Five months later she proclaims loudly in
front of all your friends, she's pregnant and she says she is keeping your baby.  Oh No!  Now what are you going to
do?

Now, you're so intoxicated that you force a girl to have sex.  You think to yourself, "I won't get caught, it's not
really rape."  You are so totally unaware of your actions, that when the police come to the door to arrest you for the
crime, you admit to everything.  There is no lawyer present, because you were so drunk that you believed you did
nothing wrong even when she told you, "No!"

Maybe you are with a crowd where many are members of a gang.  You may not belong, but when a fight arises
you are forced to join.  Suddenly a gun goes off and someone dies.  Now you are an accessory to murder.  All
because you used poor judgment over the people you chose to hang around with.

Satan's got your number!  He shouts in your head that in order to have fun you must drink, do drugs and of
course do what everyone else is doing at the party.  All Satan has to do is encourage you to give into  temptation.
He's a pro at ruining a person's life.  He knows just the right words to push you into taking the plunge into an ocean
of trouble.  His mission is to destroy your life!

Well if this is the case, then I am not responsible for my mistake.  "The Devil made me do it!"  Unfortunately this is
just not true.  The Devil may inspire you to follow the crowd, but you are in control of your body.  You don't have to
do it!

You are in a sticky situation and now you question how your life could take such a horrible turn.  You didn't think
that having fun could lead you to so much misery.  You thought being with your friends gave you freedom, but
instead you're facing a prison term.

We live in a world filled with corrupt and evil practices that lead people into doing things they would have never
done if they had only understood they were involved in a world game of life. This is the reason why teen pregnancy
is so high.  This is the reason why alcoholism takes away a person's principles.  This is the reason why there are so
many young adults searching helplessly to answers as to why their friend just committed suicide. The game of life
begins in our heads!

When the party's over and real life settles in, you realize that you just went through a life-altering situation.  A
difficult path that changes your hopes and dreams.  This is why you need to become aware of why bad things
happen when you're drunk or on drugs.  Why bad things happen to those you know and what you can do to change
your circumstances.

Adam and Eve opened our world to the influence of Satan when they wanted knowledge.  Many people do not
understand that wisdom comes through real life situations.  In order to choose good over bad there must be good
and bad examples.  Drinking too much leads to Alcoholism.  Having casual sex leads to unwanted pregnancy.
Running with the wrong crowd leads to prison sentences.

The only way that young people can fight against the bad things that happen to a person in life is to become
aware of what you are fighting against.  Think about what you are questioning within yourself and understand that
the beginning of trouble always starts within your mind.  A war of epic proportion begins in the valley of our
consciousness.

The voice between human reason and letting myself just enjoy the moment were constantly echoing in my mind.
Each was distinct, but one was demanding that I throw it all away and give into instant gratification.  The other voice
challenged me through the morals I had been taught as a child.  It was like a ping pong game in my mind.  One was
good the other was evil.

The Bible tells us this is spiritual warfare.  A war that takes place in our mind, but gives us the choice to decide
whether we follow it or not.

Romans 8:4&5, "Those who live as their human nature tells them to, have their minds controlled by what human
nature wants.  Those who live as the Spirit tells them to, have their minds controlled by what the Spirit wants."

Human nature is inspired by Satan and everything that is bad in our world.  While the Spirit refers to the Holy
Spirit of God, which dwells in a person.  The Holy Spirit gives them reasonable options by teaching them morals that
are geared to protect them from making wrong decisions.

When you live in a corrupt and evil world you must find out how to defend yourself.  The only way you can win
your game of life is by first acknowledging that it exists.

Our world is filled with opposites. God is the answer to everything good in the world.  He loves People!  He wants
us to win our game of life.  Satan is the great deceiver who wants to enslave you to the world and stop you from
having a good life by leading you astray.

Romans 8: 6-8, "To be controlled by human nature results in death;  to be controlled by the Spirit results in life
and peace.  And so a person becomes an enemy of God when he is controlled by his human nature; for he does not
obey God's law, and in fact he cannot obey it. Those who obey their human nature cannot please God."

God's principles keep us safe from the evils that commonly happen to people in this world.  He tells us what to do
when facing temptation.  He opens our eyes to consequences for indulging our flesh.  He lets us see the
hopelessness of the people in the world who choose wrong over right.

Parties are not bad.  Drinking is not bad in moderation.  But who you choose to be around can be the difference
between peace and strife.  It can be the difference between bringing a wanted pregnancy into the world or an
unloved child.  It can be the difference between knowing who really is your friend and who is just using you as a big
fat joke!

So you made a tragic mistake that led you down a path where Satan changed your life forever.  He bound you to
a girl you did not love for the sake of your child.  He put you in jail for seven years when you hung with the wrong
crowd.  He made you wear a tattoo for life that you are ashamed to show your mother.  Oh Well!  This is how God
sees your life.  He knows how easy it is to make mistakes.  He knows that Satan is in your human nature telling you
that you must do this to have fun.  He knows you are weak!

God doesn't care about your mistakes!  In the game of life we have the ability to start our game over.  When we
are in a war of good versus evil we are allowed to make life changing mistakes.  But with God's help we will rise
above our present situation.  God loves People!  God loves You!

Romans 8:37-39, "No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us!  For I am certain
that nothing can separate us from his love:  neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers or
powers, neither the present nor the future, neither the world above nor the world below there is nothing in all
creation that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord."

To follow God is to gain a Spiritual wisdom that is out of this world! A wealth of knowledge that allows us to
understand why we are here.  A challenge that is meant to teach us what we would have never known without going
through the tragedies of life.  To not find God is to lose the great game of life and to fall hopelessly into the world,
never understanding or gaining insight into why bad things happen to people.
